      The New Forest pony

    • About the breed

The New Forest pony is one of the recognised mountain and moorland or native pony breeds of the British Isles. They are valued for hardiness, strength, and sure-footedness.

The New Forest pony can be driven in harness, and competes successfully against larger horses in horse show competition.

      Namingthemes

All connemara, new forest and welsh ponies born here (in other words born from one of our mares) get the prefix 'Decorimas'.

Some of our mares have themes with their names, like some have where the colts are named by the begining letter of their sire, or that 50% of the name come from the sire and the other 50% from the dam.

Themes - if any - will be listed on the mares individual pages. Names should be english sounding.

Obviously - I cant force anyone to use my namingthemes, but it would make me happy if you did :) <3

    • Décors New Forest ponies

Here at Décors our New Forest ponys are put in the category called "C" here in Sweden. Some might be closer to category "D". They have been placed here due to their imagined height if they would have been real.

Category C: These ponies would in real life be about 130,1 - 140,0 cm at the withers.

Category D: These ponies would in real life be about 140,1 - 148,0 cm at the withers.

      Simulated Ponyracing

Our New Forest ponies are used in swedish simulated pony racing. Want to know what it is? Look at the link below!
