Agility/Trick riding

Agility

Agility is what it sounds like, sort of like agility for dogs just for donkeys instead. Here its important to have a attentive ass. The donkey is turned loose in the indoor arena wearing only a halter.

Trickriding

Trickriding refers to the act of performing stunts while riding the donkey at a galop.
Handler clothing: Casual clothing that is comfortable and appropriate for the type of task entered. Boots or sturdy, safe shoes. Hats optional. A whip is allowed (mostly for the handler to help show direction etc).
If trick riding - helmet is a must.

Halter

Halter is a type of 'beautyshow' where donkeys are shown "in hand," meaning that they are led and not ridden. In a showring the donkey are judged on their conformation and their suitability as breeding stock so its important to have a calm (that isnt scared of any sudden and weird noises) and collected animal. The donkey should be shown in a clean, safe and sturdy halter.

The donkey: Can't have any other tack on them.
The handler: Western or English attire. Boots or sturdy, safe shoes, hats are optional.

Therapy

The donkey: In-hand trail you may work your donkey in halter, bridle and/or saddle.
The handler: Casual clothing that is comfortable and appropriate for the type of class entered. Footwear must be safe and sturdy. Hats optional.
