Points

This is a very common gene in the Drabardi donkey breed. Almost all donkeys have points and it is rare for them to be without. The genes for points are recessive, meaning that if the donkey has (pp) the points don't show. A donkey with points have a white (although often more 'creamy white' than 'stark/snow white') muzzle, eye rings, belly and inner leg. The edges can be blurry (but still with a clear 'edge') or rather stark in contrast - it's up to you. A donkey with no points have no white muzzle, no eye rings, no white belly and inner leg.

White points go over ALL markings except spotted and white markings. Zabardi markings go over white points but can be a bit more faded on the lower legs than they would be normally.

The pictures (to the right) show roughly the minimum and the maximum spread of the points. It shouldn't pass too far over the middle of the donkey's ribcage. The edge of the point marking can be either sharp or slightly blurred, and it should not be able to be confused with pangare.

These donkeys have white points but lack the dun dilution.

No POINTS pp Rare
POINTS - heterozygous Pp Common

Look at real donkey pictures to get an idea of the points range and placement. The wild ass can be used as a good inspiration for the maximum range.
